This well run and highly dynamic precision engineering and fabrication business is going through an excellent period of growth and development.

Lead by a very inspirational senior management team, they require an experienced MRP Implementation Manager.

Youwill be responsible for the successful implementation of Epicor ERP (Kinetic), leading and assisting in the transition from Epicor Avante and other legacy systems the business is currently using.

You will involve employees at an early stage to ensure the necessary commitment, culture and motivation is established to engage in the process of change.

You will chair a small multifunctional project team to determine minimum critical success criteriaand involve them in determining the detail system design.

You will be an exceptional communicator, showing strong empathy, as you will need to win the hearts and minds of the dedicated production team and wider business.

Using your knowledge and experience of MRP systems and in particular EPICOR, your role will involve assessing the project requirements and mapping those requirements to the capabilities of Epicor.

Functionality gaps currently filled by the capabilitiesof existing legacy systems are to be critically assessed and a plan created for resolving them, making use of in-house expertise or budgeting for third party consultancy if required.

You will work together with the team to oversee and verify the validity of data transfer from legacy systems into Epicor and take the opportunity to make changes to optimise the performance of the new system.

You will work together with the existing ITteam to customise and tailor the Epicor system, creating custom BPM rules and BAQs, customising the user interface and creating custom reports.

You will lead a program of testing and piloting, ensuring that all conceivable scenarios are trialled, and procedures of work clearly defined.

The project team should be fully involved and be responsible for obtaining sign-off on the critical success criteriabefore go-live implementation.

You will be responsible for coordinating the training of end users.
Go-live implementation will need to be managed carefully to minimise disruption to the business.

Post implementation, you will identify and prioritise areas for improvements, making sure the new system grows and flexes with the business.

Your Experience

  • You will have previous project management experience in the roll out of new ERP systems.
  • You will have previous experience using and customising Epicor ERP, ideally in a manufacturing engineering setting.
  • You will have gained an appreciation of the organisational and cultural issues surrounding change management and have experience working in multidiscipline teams.

Your Skills

  • You will have excellent analytical and problemsolving skills and have a record of finding creative compromise solutions that enable project success.
  • You will have commercial acumen and have strong communication, organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • You will be competent in writing custom Epicor BPM rules, BAQs and Epicor reports using SQL Server Reporting Services.
  • Ideally you will have technical knowledge of SQL Server.
  • You will have the ability to rapidly gain an understanding of legacy IT systems.

The role is based on a 12-24 fixed term contract, but it is envisaged that this will grow into a more permanent role as the position and responsibilities develop.

Your CV will be forwarded to Jonathan Lee Recruitment, a leading engineering and manufacturing recruitment consultancy established in 1978. The services advertised by Jonathan Lee Recruitment are those of an Employment Agency.
