Summary

Motus Truck & Van have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and reliable General Maintenance/Handy Person to oversee the Welham Green site.

This role involves performing small plumbing jobs, handle ad-hoc maintenance tasks, tend to the garden, and ensure the general appearance of our dealership site is kept in excellent condition.

Will also be responsible for alarm testing, overseeing fence maintenance, and coordinating with sub-contractors as needed.

What will you be doing?

• General Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to keep the dealership site in optimal condition, including repairs, touch-ups, and upkeep of fixtures and fittings.
• Plumbing: Address minor plumbing issues and repairs such as leaks, blocked drains, and faucet replacements.
• Garden Maintenance: Maintain the dealership's exterior by mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, planting flowers, and ensuring the landscape is presentable at all times.
• Alarm Testing: Regularly test and maintain the security alarm system to ensure it is in proper working order.
• Fence Maintenance: Oversee the repair and maintenance of perimeter fences and gates to enhance security and aesthetics.
• Coordination with Sub-contractors: When required, liaise with external contractors for specialized maintenance tasks and oversee their work to ensure quality and timeliness.
• Ad-hoc Repairs: Respond promptly to ad-hoc maintenance requests, such as fixing lights, doors, or any other site-related issues.
• Reporting: Maintain records of all maintenance activities, expenses, and schedules, and report to the Aftersales Manager regularly

Hours & Salary:

• Monday to Friday
• 08:00am - 5:00pm
• This position may require occasional evenings or weekend work

Salary of £25,000 per annum plus paid overtime when required

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a similar maintenance or handy person role is preferred.
• Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge.
• Proficiency in using common tools and equipment.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to take on new challenges.
• Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks that may require lifting or carrying heavy objects
