Introduction:

This contract is mostly remote however you will be required to travel to Plymouth a couple of times per month.

My client is a defence and engineering consultancy who are looking for a Design Manager to assist with the delivery of new ship and submarine programmes. You will be working on a basin programme whilst overseeing a technical team.

You should have experience in high hazard environments and experience in design and construction

Key responsibilities:

Manage design elements of the WRB ensuring technical performance.
Provide technical design guidance and review design packages.
Ensure design documents cover the scope.
Plan for effective project implementation.
Coordinate and design special layout.
Ensure operational aspects of the system are integrated and functional.

Skills & experience:

Experience in design and construction in civil engineering.
Marine experience desirable.
Experience working in high hazard facilities in the nuclear sector.
Chartered Engineer preferred.
Experience with engineering design and safety practices.
