    Summary

    A site-based role, responsible for ensuring the ongoing integrity and effectiveness of the client's security systems.

    The Apprentice Security Technician will learn and apply industry standards and best practices in security systems integration, with the aim of continuous learning and improvement to progress a career within the security industry.

    Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:

    • Perform regular checks and maintenance on all security systems across the estate (access control, CCTV etc)
    • Identify and resolve issues with security equipment promptly to minimise downtime and maintain overall security of the client premises.
    • Keep security software and firmware up to date to address vulnerabilities and ensure systems are protected against the latest threats.
    • Work closely with other relevant departments to organise ordering of spare or replacement equipment, and to assist with other engineering works where necessary.
    • To assist in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all security systems.
    • Collaborate with Senior Technicians and colleagues to understand technical requirements and execute tasks accordingly.
    • Gain proficiency in programming and configuring security systems components.

    Education and/or Professional Experience

    • English and Maths GCSEs preferable.
    • Access control and/or CCTV qualifications or experience preferable but not essential.

    Requirements

    • Will be put forward to join College and enrol in a 3-year security systems apprenticeship.
    • Must be able to gain security clearance for Government sites.
