Description

Manthorpe Building Products is a leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of plastic injection moulded, vacuum formed and extruded products for the building industry.

We are looking to recruit an Extrusion Cell Leader on a full time, permanent basis at our site in Ripley.

Role:

To provide day to day guidance and direction to the extrusion staff, ensuring that production requirements are met on time and in full.

Being First Aid, Fire Marshal, forklift truck and overhead crane trained to assist wherever necessary within the production department and driving improvements in terms of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity and People.

Working Hours:
Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide day to day direction for the extrusion team.
Control the extrusion production activity ensuring that targets are achieved.
Coordinate department activities to ensure high quality and standards, and that the deadlines are meet on time.
Supervise staff in accordance with the company policies and procedures.
Assist other employees to resolve operational problems.
Schedule and conduct staff meetings when required.
Perform back to work interviews and conduct improvement notices.
Conduct staff meetings when required.
Communicate with Shift Team Leaders with production issues.
Carry out extrusion die and calibrator servicing and repairs as required.
Provide mechanical knowledge and guidance to the extrusion team where needed.
Contribute and sustain 5S activities within the shop floor area.
Provide further development and training to the extrusion team.
Be competent in carrying out manual handling tasks.
Liaising with the Shift Team Leader and other members of the management team to understand issues which have occurred and discuss viable solutions.
Organise the team with their work assignments and rotations, training on new jobs, holidays and sorting the cover for them, and providing cover for absent employees.
Responsible for meeting the departments productivity and quality goals with a health and safety mindset.
Sharing of technical knowledge and experience with other Shift Team Leaders, Cell Leaders, and Deputy Team Leaders.
Ensure all waste products are separated into their designated containers for safe disposal.

Experience with staff management / team leading within an extrusion environment is beneficial for this role
