- Clean designated areas of the College identified by the Senior Caretaker / Head Caretaker.
- Assist security staff in their duties as and when required.
- Respond to out of hours call out and undertake remedial emergency repairs where required or escalate to Head of Estates.
- Undertake designated ground maintenance tasks identified by the Senior Caretaker / Head Caretaker or person appointed to oversee such work.
- Carry out lawn mowing / gardening grounds keeping duties.
- Maintain in good condition all equipment used to undertake your duties.
- Arrange with teaching and support staff any requests for the removal or transfer of furniture or equipment.
- Ensure all exam set ups internally and externally are completed in compliance with required regulations.
- Ensure all external events set ups are completed.
- Ensure compliance with contractors permit to work.
- Implement Inclement Weather Policy where applicable and report to Head of Estates on Campus conditions.
- Lock and unlock College buildings as directed.
- Support Estates function with planned re-development works in preparing the area.
- Report any acts of vandalism and trespass to the Senior Caretaker/ Head Caretaker or Operations Manager.
- Undertake small scale designated maintenance tasks.
- Support Fire Evacuation Controller during fire evacuations, ensuring communication link to the Fire Service and Fire Controller in identifying location of activation.
- Report any defect in firefighting equipment to the Health & Safety Officer.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Caretaker to join our Estates team at our Wakefield College campus. As a member of the Estates department, you will provide caretaking services to ensure a safe an operational environment for all building users.
