    Crouch Waterfall is an established firm of Civil, Structural and Geotechnical Consulting Engineers with extensive experience of Railways, Buildings, Roads, Bridges and Waterways. The practice, formed in 1981, has enjoyed steady growth with works carried out throughout the UK from offices in Basingstoke, Bristol & Warrington.

    Crouch Waterfall's main focus is within five main areas: Buildings, Rail, Bridges, Temporary Works and Embankments & Earthworks Design. These disciplines overlap within most projects and allow Crouch Waterfall to provide a comprehensive Structural, Civil and Geotechnical Engineering design service.

    The Role:

    Crouch Waterfall are currently experiencing strong growth with exciting opportunities and are looking for a flexible, practical Senior Geotechnical Engineer who can grow with the company to achieve the goals of the business in parallel with their personal ambitions.

    The position requires a BSc, BEng or MEng Engineer ideally with significant experience in Geotechnical Engineering. Ideally the candidate would be someone who is keen to diversify and encompass the scope of our project remits which cover domestic and commercial structures, rail, bridge and temporary works in both the public and private sectors. The candidate should be conversant with engineering software.

    As a Principal Engineer you will be expected to take ownership of some projects within your remit, interacting with the other Engineers and Technicians within your team. You will be supported and supervised by the Associates and Regional Directors within the office and work in close conjunction with the other offices. The ideal candidate should be proactive, dynamic and intuitive, happy to work on their own initiative as well as being a team player and interacting comfortably with the other staff members.

    The role will include but not be limited to:

    • Design of geotechnical structures in the temporary and permanent case
    • Design of civil and structural schemes and / or providing input into schemes designed by other disciplines
    • Review and checks of other schemes prepared by others
    • Carrying out inspections and surveys of geotechnical structures and preparing reports
    • Undertaking feasibility / option studies
    • Preparation of project programmes
    • Management of team resources
    • Client liaison
    • Undertaking mentorship and providing training to more junior staff members

    To be considered for this design role we require the following experience, qualifications, skills, knowledge and attributes:

    • Relevant Engineering degree
    • Chartership with an approved and accredited body
    • Full UK driving licence and own transport would be useful but not imperative
    • Eligible to live and work in the UK and high standard of written English
