    I am working with one of the leading privately owned residential developers southwest and they are looking to expand the team with an assistant development manager

    You will come from a town planning or land buying background and have 2-4 years post-graduation experience in a residential development or house building. You will be working on large urban regeneration schemes where placemaking and community building are at the heart of everything the company does.

    You will work alongside a senior development manager who is the project lead and specifically focuses on the post-acquisition stages with planning application and design of the development at the early stages. You will be used to managing external and internal partners in architecture, design, town planning, legal and construction as you will be overseeing and managing the project through pre-commencement phases and hand over to the build team.

    You will be a degree-qualified land buyer, architect, town planner or development surveyor and you will be working for one of the leading house builders or development consultancies. You will also have detailed knowledge of planning policy in residential developments.

    You will work directly with a very experienced development team and be allowed to work on some high-profile projects to develop your career at a fast pace.

    Responsibilities

    • Working with the land, technical and planning team to oversee the design and delivery of the current and future phases of the development
    • Working with the team managing the detailed planning consents for the next phase on-site
    • Managing internal reports for the development director and group board
    • Liaising with local authority on planning conditions of outline consent
    • Dealing with design variations with internal technical and external architects

    Key requirements

    • Degree qualified
    • 2-4 years post graduate experience as an architect, technical coordinator, design manager, land buyer or development surveyor
    • You will be working for either a leading house builder or development consultancy
    • Detailed experience of project managing complex residential led schemes through the planning application and appeals process.
