    Description

    Salary/package: Up to £50,000

    Location: Glasgow, Edinburgh and surrounding areas.

    Accountabilities:


    • Carry out a program of preventative and when necessary corrective maintenance on a wide variety of critical broadcast antennas, telecommunication antennas and combiner systems across the UK to the satisfaction of our customers and processes


    • Work with the Senior Antenna Engineer to ensure that we have sufficient spares available to meet our contractual obligations within your area. Ensure that the record of these spares is kept in the correct manner as laid out by the processes of the department


    • Work within the operating processes laid down for your department and the company as a whole


    • Take part in a mandatory call out rota to ensure that an escalation route and emergency response is always available from within the Antenna Systems team


    • To be familiar with the antenna related Disaster and Emergency equipment in order to utilise it effectively when called upon


    • To act as an internal and external consultant providing specialist advice on matters relating to your business area


    • Maintain a secure working environment in line with the requirements of the Arqiva Security Policy in order to protect individuals, information and Arqiva assets Carry out RF Surveys as and when required for operational needs as well as for accreditation purposes Carry out RF Surveys as and when required for operational needs as well as for accreditation purposes.

    Experience/Expertise:


    • Working knowledge of the development, testing and maintenance of bespoke and COTS (Common off the Shelf) software/hardware for Broadcast, IP Network, IOT or corporate application depending on technical area of expertise


    • Experience with processes, standards and engineering practices related to monitoring and controlling (M&C)


    • Comprehensive knowledge of networking principles


    • Experience of maintenance and fault resolution on complex media systems; supports root cause analysis to resolve complex or recurring problems.

    Technical / Professional Skillset(s):


    • Specialises in one or more areas of systems and equipment relevant to role such as RF systems, DVB, Analogue Radio, DAB, Microwaves, Sat Comms, Data Networks, Telecoms etc.;


    • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in the techniques and applications of computer network systems


    • Comprehensive knowledge of and able to apply Safety, Health and Environment legislation, policies and procedures


    • Able to conduct complex measurements.
