    Exciting Opportunity: Head of Business Services - in Cheshire

    About Storengy UK

    Storengy UK is a subsidiary of ENGIE, we developed and now operate the Stublach Natural Gas Storage site in Cheshire, the largest onshore in the UK.

    We are actively participating in the energy transition and supporting the UK government strategy to reach net zero by 2050. We have set our own carbon neutral target of 2025. A strategy to develop biomethane production in the UK and an ambition to create and operate hydrogen storage further support these targets.

    About the role

    Storengy UK are recruiting for a Head of Business Services based in Cheshire. This is a Permanent role, working full time Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.

    Key Duties

  • As an ExCom member, provide strategic and operational leadership within the business.
  • Develop and embed desired organisational culture within the business as per Group and UK strategy.
  • Pro-actively contribute to the development of organisational strategies and goals as well as their effective implementation.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day smooth running of all aspects of the Business Services functional areas to meet the business needs of the company
  • Lead, maintain, and implement internal policies and procedures in accordance to Engie UK Hub functions including relation to SHEQ, HR, & CSR, IT, Communications etc.).
  • Work with functional managers to embed appropriate practices across the business.
  • Ensure development of Business Services Team to meet current and future needs of the business.
  • Coordination with the Engie UK Hub to ensure services, skills, and resources, are sufficient to meet present and future needs.
  • Interpretation and implementation of GBU Networks policies across all functional areas.
  • Uphold company's ethical principles and codes of conduct in all business activities undertaken.
  • Key Requirements

    Essential

  • Proven track record of working closely with multiple functional areas within a business (SHEQ, HR, Regulatory & Public Affairs (RAPA) and ESG/CSR, IT, Communications etc.).
  • Good working knowledge of General Data Protection Regulations.
  • Good working knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation in relations to a COMAH site and within an office environment.
  • Upholding a company's ethical priorities and codes of conduct.
  • Excellent Leadership Skills.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to pro-actively identify and resolve issues.
  • Ability to work through ambiguity.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • Hands on approach, leads by example.
  • Commercially aware.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills.
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, commerce, business, or another related field.
  • Desirable:

  • Experience of working in a rapidly expanding small business.
  • Good working knowledge of managing outsourced services such as, Contracts and Procurement (C&P) for both Operations and Maintenance (O&M) and project activities.
  • Good soft skills.
  • Personnel development skills.
  • A master's degree in business administration. (MBA).
