    About the role

    The Head of Commercial Effectiveness Digital and Tech will run the strategic programmes, and subsequent ongoing capabilities, that will enable Commercial and Marketing teams to plan and evaluate spend on Trade Promotion and A&P They will be jointly responsible with the business for unlocking the of benefits achievable through best in practice technologies, and services in these key areas of organizational capability.

    The Net Revenue Management programme will create an industry leading global capability to measure, predict and plan the effectiveness of promotional spend to deliver growth and margin. This will be enabled through the delivery of BU led transformations to our commercial ways of working, combining data (including AI), technology and capability (through the Commex organization).

    A need exists to define and deliver a similar capability for Marketing Effectiveness for A&P spend. This role will also be responsible for defining (alongside the Head of CCE) and delivering this programme, and then running the service that is created.

    To enable this transformation, the role will also drive the creation of an ecosystem of technology platforms, a customer data foundation and a marketing data foundation that will persist in the long run, addressing a large gap in organizational capability and allowing the organization to maintain parity with the best performing in the industry.

    The role will collaborate with the Head of Channels and the Heads of Sales and Marketing Excellence to ensure that the capabilities and processes defined in commercial effectiveness can be seamlessly executed across the business.

    Once live, the two programmes will cover the strategic planning of all of the key marketing and commercial processes for the company, developing into an integrated planning process that will give Haleon market leading capabilities.

    Role Responsibilities

  • Strategic Stakeholder Influence: This role involves actively engaging with senior leaders globally, including members of the executive team, General Managers, and Digital & Tech Senior Leaders to drive digital strategy.
  • Major Programme Delivery and Service Management Capabilities: The role will be responsible for the successful delivery of two board critical programmes and the ongoing running of the services created. They will be required to have the budgetary, contract management, planning, execution, governance and service experience associated with global programme and service management.
  • Commercial Acumen, Business Process Transformation and Value Realization: The role requires partnership with Commercial and Marketing Leaders and General Managers to undertake significant transformation of commercial processes to the conclusion of value realization in the long run. The role holder should be a credible influence in this area and this will include understanding industry best practice in relevant (and adjacent) industries.
  • Technology Consultancy: Partnering with Senior Engineers in the function, the role will ensure technology, vendor and delivery choices are made in line with D&T Strategy and there is a balance and understanding of trade offs between cost, quality and pace.
  • Data Literacy: The role will play the primary interface between the needs of the marketing and commercial business and the data organization, defining the key use cases that will create the Consumer, Marketing and Audience Data Foundations and prioritizing them on a value basis. The role holder will be expected to understand and credibly influence the development of these platforms for the benefit of the business.
  • Matrix Team Leadership and contract management: The role holder will be one of the key accountable senior leaders in a cross functional team made up of Digital & Tech functions, Commercial & Marketing Teams and BUs. The resources may be sourced internally or through multiple vendors. The team may stretch to hundreds of people at times. The role will need to provide strong leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams to create a high-performance culture and takes ownership of critical decisions and provides clear direction, actively leading problem-solving discussions across boundaries.
  • Basic Qualifications:

  • The preferred candidate will have a proven track record of commercial technology programme delivery and service management. The role should be able to credibly speak to technology, platform and architecture choices in commercial tech.
  • The preferred candidate will have experience of commercial business transformation including best practice in NRM and/or Marketing Effectiveness.
  • The preferred candidate will have experience of Data transformation delivery, including Data Platforms and AI so that it can direct resources in a matrix
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • The role will be required to influence senior leaders across the globe including executive team members. Credible influence in an environment of complex interests will be critical for the success of the capability. The role will be expected to balance and priorities demands to ensure progress and short term and long term value realization.
