    The Vacancy
    This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to manage an important framework delivering services to our FCM Clients and working closely with our delivery partners. We are looking for a leader with demonstrable operational management experience, who will provide support across our Flood, Coast and Maritime business managing the delivery of our business through the CCS framework.     About the Role

    Works collaboratively with colleagues across Flood, Coast and Maritime to grow and develop our business and our people.

    Provides operational leadership on the CCS Frameworks working closely with our clients and partners to deliver a portfolio of work, ensuring that we operate effectively and efficiently to secure, formalise and deliver our contracts in a timely manner.

    Approve or escalate for approval the as-sold position on tenders

    Work with BPM and WSP to collate the tender price into WSP format

    BPM to prepare tender price using Binnies PMWB

    Review the contract terms and seek Binnies governance sign-off

    Review and approve/modify terms

    Check terms in sub-contract and escalate any variances to BFD

    Incorporate any allowance for terms into risk register and allowance in risk pot

    Prepare sub-contract between Binnies and WSP

    Approve the sub-contract for signature

    Review the sub-contract and co-ordinate Binnies signature. Obtain Purchase Order

    Prepare the sub-contract

    Open Binnies Project

    Approve/escalate job opening as necessary

    Update Projects Tracker. Obtain signed contract / WSP Sub-contract

    Submit job opening request

    Monitor Performance and update forecast

    Support BFM as necessary

    Develop and update performance register. Circulate to PDs, BFD and FCM D

    Financial forecasting

    Track AFPs and payments

    Support BFM as necessary

    Work closely with finance teams and WSP to ensure we develop a regular and timely process of getting paid

    Support BFM with prompt approvals of AFPs

    Liaison with EA

    Liaison with EA fwk team if necessary

    Liaison with EA fwk team/support WSP

    Liaison with project team

    Regular meetings with WSP to highlight operational progress.

    Attend meetings with suitable counterpart

    Organise fortnightly calls with WSP to check on any actions associated with the above

    Our current route to CCS is through WSP and establishing a close and trusted working relationship with them will be a key requirement of this role.

    The CCS framework is up for renewal in the next few years and it is our ambition to secure a place for Binnies – either with WSP – or as Binnies UK. Part of the role will be to ensure Binnies are seen as a delivery partner of choice with both our clients and supply chain colleagues.

    Essential Requirements for the candidate

    The role is suitable for candidates with a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, Business Management, Environmental Science, Geography, Water & Environmental Management or another related discipline. Other skills should include:

    • Operational management experience in a commercial organisation
    • Demonstrable commercial awareness, including tendering for flood and coastal work (on client or supplier side) and contract management
    • Demonstrable experience managing projects and ability to monitor and deliver work to the agreed budget, programme and scope
    • Demonstrable experience mentoring and managing more junior staff in operational management and support roles

    Desirable Requirements for the candidate

    • Experience working with flood and coastal risk management clients, such as the Environment Agency, Local Authorities, Natural Resources Wales and/ or Local Authorities
    • Experience working in an engineering or environmental consultancy.
    • A Project Management Qualification, such as Prince 2 or APM
    • Experience of working on flood alleviation scheme projects at appraisal, outline design, detailed design and construction stages and/ or flood risk plans and strategies.
    • Background in business development.
