Always working closely with clients to ensure deliver the highest quality products, we now provide metal pressing and other manufacturing solutions to a number of key automotive and off-highway OEMs and tier one companies across the UK and beyond, including JCB, Jaguar and Land Rover.

The Role Overview

  • For the role of Press Setter, you will be setting and operating a Press machine.
  • Loading and unloading of parts.
  • Quality Inspection of parts using micrometers, Vernier's and gauges will be required for the role of Press Setter
  • Safely Set tools in line with daily production plan in both Hydraulic and Mechanical presses.
  • Press panel in line with master panel and fill in all required documentation
  • Create line sample and display at press for reference
  • Ensure press areas are safe and have good level of 5s
  • Proven experience of initiating or driving change
  • Training for the above will be given on a daily basis by setting team leader and other team members, also training g plan will be set up with goals to achieve on a specific timeline.

Duties & Key Responsibilities

  • Safely set tools in Hydraulic and Mechanical presses
  • Achieve first off line samples and complete relevant documentation (IATF)
  • Maintain good levels of housekeeping 5s
  • Development and improvement activities in both people and areas
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety protocols

Qualifications / Skillsets (essential & desirable)

  • For the role of Press Setter, experience on these machines is essential.
  • Experience of Power Press Regulations
  • Ability to interpret and work to Engineering drawings is required for the role of Press Setter.
  • Ability to plan and work from own initiative, with minimum supervision
  • Applicants will need to demonstrate attention to detail and reliability for the role of Press Setter.
  • Ideally educated to GCSE level in English and maths
  • Press knowledge would be an advantage
  • FLT and Crane licence would be advantageous
  • Have the ability to read a tape measure, Imperial and Metric
