Who we are:
LDN London is an award-winning charity that provides services for people with a range of learning disabilities and their families.
Our vision is to enable people with learning disabilities to stay healthy, be safe, and to live well in a society where people with learning disabilities are valued as equals.
We operate in Camden, Islington, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster.Our extensive experience is in supporting people with disabilities including people with complex needs and profound and multiple disabilities. We place special emphasis on promoting family relationships, as this is crucial to delivering successful services.
About the role:
As one of our Trustees you will help ensure we have a clear strategy, and that we work towards meeting our goals and vision.
Trustees have the ultimate responsibility to manage, govern and control the charity and to make decisions about policies, objectives and strategies.
The role will provide strong leadership and direction. You will make balanced and adequately informed decisions, thinking about the long term as well as the short term.You will be required to attend 4 board meetings and 4 sub-committee meetings per year.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated person wanting to make a difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities living in London.
Your background will either be within a housing, planning, HR, academic, health or social care setting, or that you have lived /a personal experience of learning disability.

Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities, and liabilities of trusteeship
Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
Selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty, and leadership
Personal knowledge of learning disability through a family member / friend / work colleagues and or professional experience as a leader or manager within Health & Social Care would be beneficial.

Remuneration:
Trustees are unremunerated, but reasonable expenses are paid when incurred solely for the performance of agreed duties.
