    Location: Wolverhampton (WV9 5EU)

    The role is a permanent full time position Monday-Friday based at the Wolverhampton site. There may be occasional travel to other Cargill locations in Europe (France and Poland).

    Job Purpose and Impact

    Cargill's European protein business is a leading supplier and innovator of further processed chicken products for retail, food service and food manufacturing customers.

    This position in our R&D Team will sit in our Process Design Team and have the opportunity to deliver improvements to existing products and support with new product trials in our Wolverhampton factory, for further processed coated chicken products for a major Quick Service Restaurant. You will partner closely with Operations, Food Safety Quality and Regulatory (FSQR) and Supply Chain colleagues. As well as in factory trial work, the role will encompass technical administration.

    Key Accountabilities


    • Provide knowledge to project teams and functions and offer technical guidance and scientific insight for new process development and process improvements.

    • Ensure projects proceed according to plan and results are documented and communicated.

    • Provide contributions to new product or high performance innovation efforts.

    • Perform evaluations of external processes, manufacturing technologies or facilities.

    • Identify and address new process or product opportunities that create distinct value and enable business growth.

    • Support and comply with corporate and local safety and food safety policies and procedures.

    • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications


    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or food science discipline and or demonstrated experience in place of a degree – secondary level education.

    • Proven experience in a Food Manufacturing NPD/ R&D Environment – Meat/ Poultry, other Food categories will be considered.

    • Able to effectively work with other departments in a Food Manufacturing facility

    Preferred qualifications


    • Experience with Project Management tools applied within the Food Industry

    • Food Safety Qualifications (HACCP)
