The primary responsibility of this role is a mix of underwriting and client interaction – two dynamic areas requiring flexibility of approach and a detailed knowledge of the market environment you operate within.
Key Responsibilities:
Underwriting for new and existing clients in accordance with the Arch Re underwriting philosophyAnalyse and access Property submissions in respect of coverage and risk hazards, determine capacity and offer proposals for lead or follow businessBroker and cedant visits/calls to develop relationships with individual client contactsBuild and maintain knowledge of the geographic markets you operate in with respect to wording, law, regulation as well as brokers and competitorsProvide timely and quality servicePromote positive interaction and collaboration with internal peersCommunicate actively, timely and with opennessRepresent Arch Re in meetings with clients and brokersMinimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:A University Degree required; professional re/insurance designations such as ACII or CPCU would be an assetCurrently working in the market with a good track record and have contacts with both cedants and brokersProven ability to market to individuals in the industry at all levelsStrong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with management at a senior levelDemonstrated ability on being team-orientated, efficient and working under pressureExcellent negotiation skillsHigh degree of technical competence for property classUK & international travel is expected for this positionDo you like solving complex business problems, working with talented colleagues and have an innovative mindset?
