Rio Tinto's Simandou Project is a new world-class iron ore exploration and mining project located in the Republic of Guinea, West Africa.
Rio Tinto's Simandou deposits are located approximately 550 kilometres south-east of Conakry, Guinea's capital, towards the southern end of the 110km long Simandou mountain range.
The Project is about to commence work on engineering and fabrication of the Ouéléba Mine Process Plant, a 60Mtpa operation extending from the ROM crushing station through to twin train load out stations.
We are looking for a
Service Transition to Support (STS) Specialist who will be responsible for providing delivery services to Major Projects in support of the Service Design and IT Operational Readiness of new or changed services introduced into Technology Platforms Operations.
This is a great opportunity for an individual with sound knowledge of Information Systems and Technology change, release, deployment, and transition planning processes.
Senior Manager IS&T and working in an exciting environment within, you will:
- Provide guidance to Major Projects across the IS&T environment including outsource partners in the operation of the IT Operational Readiness process using a supportive and collaborative approach.
- Develop an IT Operational Readiness Model that can be applied to future Major Projects.
- Engage and coordinate with all stakeholders to complete the IT Operational Readiness artifacts in a timely manner to transition the project to Operations.
- Perform a key interfacing role and encourage collaboration between the programme and project teams (Build) and operations teams as required.
- Ensure organization wide IT Operational Readiness and Support activities adhere to standards, processes, and best practice.
- Track, monitor, remediate and escalate where operational support is seen to not be fully or partly available within operational teams.
- Track and report on key IT Operational Readiness Metrics for the Project
- Identify opportunities to improve IT Operational Readiness engagement with Major Projects
- Represent Technology Platforms Operations and the Service Management Office within Major projects

- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, in multiple regions / time zones
- Negotiating, prioritising, and executing tasks with stakeholders under tight deadlines in a global environment.
- IT Operational Readiness (Service Transition)
- Continuous Improvement methodologies
- French is desirable but not required
