Canon Europe is looking for a PR specialist on a 12-month contract to build and sustain a good reputation for Canon in the media landscape through planned PR activations and reactive issues management.

The role will work across the Corporate, Sustainability and B2B teams. It is a 12-month maternity cover role.


Our PR team is based at our EMEA HQ in Uxbridge (Hybrid working - on average 3 days per week in the office), which is easily reached via the Elizabeth Line, with subsidised restaurant & Costa Coffee and free parking onsite.

In addition to a salary of between £39,525 - £46,500pa you'll be eligible for a performance-based bonus of 10%.

What we ask:

This role will expose you to a variety of tasks including:

  • Promoting Canon Europe's Corporate profile across all media and digital channels relevant to audiences.
  • Working with EMEA Corporate PR Manager, Communications team and lead PR agency to develop news releases, messaging documents, support with media interviews, press conferences etc.
  • Implementing PR activities ensuring consistent messaging and alignment to overall PR direction and brand objectives.
  • To identify and pursue media opportunities in panregional and top tier EMEA titles.
  • Engaging closely with PR personnel in each country and the lead PR agency; working together to support a panregional PR function.
  • Collaborating with the internal communications team, Business Unit PR team & Social team to ensure that messaging is consistent and repurposed, where possible, across all platforms.
  • Supporting the crisis communication and issues management programme.
  • Managing monthly coverage reports, messaging documents and fact sheets.

You will need:


  • PR experience, either inhouse or with a reputable agency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience within an corporate environment (desirable)
  • Evidence of leading sizeable projects and PR initiatives (desirable)
  • Public relations and higher education qualifications are desired.
