    Purpose: To transport the people we support to appointments and activities around the Forest Of Dean, covering Newnham upon Severn, Lydney, Cinderford & Coleford.

    To enable the people we support to live a life of opportunity and engage within the local community.

    • Someone who is interested in driving over several different locations providing different support in different services such as community support, residential care and supporting to assist in overseeing day opportunity activities at our social care farm.


    What are the main responsibilities of this role?

    1. Planning routes and timings for the individuals to ensure they reach the day placements or appointments at the required times. Assisting people we support in getting on and off the transport safely from designated points within the CVT communities.
    2. Ensure the vehicles are maintained in accordance with the CVT vehicle checklist, including refuelling and reporting problems.
    3. Plan the work schedules and activities, promote the produce and service, and plan for the departments development accordingly. Ensure that other required tasks, e.g. refuelling, returning keys and mileage sheets can be completed within the set hours.
    4. Complete the vehicle log sheet by recording opening and closing mileage for each journey, register of passengers and any other details required. In addition, prior to driving the vehicle, complete the vehicle check (if it has not already been completed for that day), with reference to the vehicle checks list.
    5. Ensure use of the vehicles is in accordance with the CVT Vehicle Driver Policy, and other CVT policies are followed.
    6. Keep all appropriate records and information in an orderly manner and on a timely basis, provide any information and documentation required to help make sure there is accurate and timely information available about the department activity.
    7. Delivering internal post between sites as part of the daily scheduled journeys.


    Role requirements:

    • Full UK Driving licence category B driving licence, have not been disqualified for any period and must have held a full licence for over two years. With no more than 3 points.
    • Minibus Licence

    All our Volunteers require a DBS criminal record check. We will do this for you.
