About the role

West Northamptonshire Council has an exciting opportunity for the right person to join our Northampton Homelessness & Housing Solutions service.


We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Social Lettings & Temporary Accommodation team assisting homeless households who require temporary accommodation live in safe, well managed accommodation.

What will you be doing?
Do you have a passion for ensuring that people live in safe, secure, well-managed accommodation?


West Northamptonshire Council uses a wide variety of accommodation to house those who require temporary accommodation, including our own stock.


Primarily, this role will focus on managing approximately 150 units of accommodation ensuring they are safe and of the required standard.

You will also work with homeless households conducting sign-ups, checkouts, move-in and move outs, as well as providing ongoing support whilst they remain in the property.


The role will include liaising with various stakeholders including third party contractors, Northampton Partnership Homes, Adult Social Care and Northampton Trust to ensure the best outcomes possible for our residents.

You will require a proactive approach, an ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.

The role is key to delivering value and efficiency so as West Northamptonshire Council strives to reduce the cost of temporary accommodation.

Organisational skills are imperative as too the willingness to work well with others in the team.

You will need an excellent customer manner, strong verbal and written communicative skills and the desire to make a positive impact.

About you
To meet the requirements of this challenging and exciting role, you will:

  • Be able to work in a fast-paced, demanding, front-line, people-focused service.
  • Have a good understanding of Property Management and safety.
  • Be able to work without supervision, managing your own workload ensuring a smooth efficient service for our team and customers alike.
  • Be organised and methodical with an interest in housing and homelessness, a strong team ethos and a desire to make a positive difference.
