Ever wanted to manage and run your own gymnasium? Put your physical training qualifications to good use? Then this is your chance Minley Station is looking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic individual into our Senior Instructional Officer Physical Training roles.
You will have the opportunity to manage and run your own classes and ensure that over 1000 Military personnel remain fit and maintain the required standards to operate in today's Armed Forces.
You will also be responsible for ensuring the facilities are safe to use for all Minley employees.You will also be responsible for assisting, planning and delivering a Physical Development syllabus to trainees and trained soldiers and officers.
Personal Fitness and physical robustness is extremely important for this role.
You can make a real difference to Defence by providing physical training sessions for newly trained soldiers undertaking their Initial Trade Training and continue their physical journey to allow them to meet the required standards before they reach the Field Army.
You will also have the opportunity to tailor and create various physical training sessions and assist the physio-therapists in rehabilitation for injured service personnel.
The role is hands on and customer facing, therefore there is an expectation to be on site for the working week.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job description:
Minley Station is looking to recruit two motivated enthusiastic Physical Training Instructors (PTI) to support a busy gymnasium.
You will be working within a small team alongside other civilians and military personnel delivering physical training and promoting health and fitness to all trainees, soldiers and officers.
You will be responsible for ensuring all the military personnel remain fit to fight and you will do this by designing, delivering and maintaining a fitness programme throughout the year, by monitoring and overseeing and reporting on all levels of fitness for service personnel.
Give advice and guidance on planning adventure training policy.
Accountability for the all the articles and equipment aligned to the gymnasium, including the serviceability and safety of them.
Be first aid at work trained to deal with any incidents in and around the gymnasium.
Ensure the Minley Station conforms to physical development policies and audits.
You will work directly to the senior Royal Army Physical Training Corps Instructor on site.
Person specification:

As a Physical Training Instructor you will prepare and deliver all lessons in accordance with current policy and Course Training Plan.
- You are to ensure the highest standards of control and safety are adhered to at all times within the gymnasium and during external physical training periods.
- You are to assist in the daily running of the gymnasium; carrying out assigned roles and responsibilities including Duty PTI.
- You will assist with the maintenance of equipment and facilities; ensuring a safe working environment and safe practices are adopted by all users.
- You are to assist with arranging and managing various sporting events.
- You are to be prepared to conduct all aspects of swimming training, including life guarding and remedial swimming lessons.
- Collation and recording of fitness test results onto a bespoke military system (training given).

- Qualifications: Essential
- Minimum physical training qualification at Level 3 associated with a recognised governing body
