Housing Support Officer


We have a rewarding opportunity for a Floating Support Officer working with the Homes for Ukraine Sustainment Service, in this remote working role in East Sussex.


Position:1086 Floating Support Officer Homes for Ukraine Sustainment Service


Location:
East Sussex/remote


Salary:
£23,832 plus Essential Car User Allowance which will be paid at £1,218 (plus mileage costs)


Hours: 37 hours per week


Contract:
Permanent


Closing Date: 13th March 2023


About the Role


The aim of the Sustainment Service is to support guest / host arrangements and relationships to continue for at least 12 months, and longer if possible.

The work will include regular check-in contact with sponsors and guests, proactively identifying issues,which may be putting the accommodation at risk, and providing support aimed at preventing a breakdown in the arrangement.


In addition, FSO's will support guests to access wider support to enable them to access longer-term accommodation, health and community services and employment and educational opportunities to support guests to live independently when they leave the hostaccommodation.


About You


To be successful in the role of Floating Support Officer, you will need to have great communication skills and be committed to the values of the organisation.

Some of the key skills and experience you will need to bring with you include:


  • Working with vulnerable clients in the community with housing related and associated support needs.
  • Working with in partnership with other agencies statutory and/or nonstatutory.
  • Creating support plans with clients and setting attainable goals.
  • Client assessments and risk assessments and review/update as necessary.
  • Managing a client caseload and writing accurate case notes and reports.
  • Safeguarding issues in relation to adults and children.
  • Housing and welfare benefits legislation (Homeless Reduction Act, Housing Benefit, Universal Credit, PIP, Care Act).


Please note that access to a car and the ability to attend/provide face-to-face support across East Sussex is required for this role.
