Role Information Job title: Financial Accountant Function: Finance Location: Milton Keynes Reporting to: Group Controller Direct reports: 0 Job grade: P3 (Qualified) Standard Hours (inc shift pattern): 40 Role summary This role is based in Milton Keynes working in the UK & Ireland business, reporting into the BMI Group Financial Controller / R2R lead (based in Reading). The role will be supported by GPO R2R specialists providing training and guidance. Working closely with the UK&I Finance Director and local teams in Milton Keynes, and the outsourced operations in Lithuania and Sri Lanka, the individual will be responsible for the reconciliation and substantiation of designated balance sheet accounts, ensuring alignment to group policy and direction. Be an integral part of the month end process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. Main Responsibilities

• Assisting with the Month end process
• Preparing and posting duly authorised journals.
• Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations, identifying and adjusting reconciling items.
• Ensuring assets and liabilities are accounted for correctly and fully substantiated.

Essential competencies, skills and experience

• Transactional Financial Accounting Experience
• Experience of preparing Balance sheet reconciliations.
• Accounting for accruals and prepayments.
• Effective communicator, with a proactive mindset, to continuously improve.
• Able to work unsupervised and deliver to an agreed timetable.
• Experienced in SAP, S4HANA
• Fluent in Business English both written and verbal

Required qualifications

• Part qualified ACCA/CIMA
