GSC Grays are a multi-disciplinary professional services firm covering the North of England.

Our Chartered Surveyors, Farm Business Consultants, Planning and Development Professionals, Valuers, Environmental Specialists and Estate Agents provide a full range of services for our rural client base.


Main purpose of the job:


We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for an experienced PA to join our team based in Barnard Castle.


The role will provide secretarial and administrative support to the Director and his direct reports, being a growing team of surveyors.


Reporting Structure:

The role reports to the Director.


The role and responsibilities:


  • Maintaining records of project costs and approvals.
  • Upward management of the team processes and procedures including client take on, project closing and monthly billing.
  • Maintaining CRM records of the team on a monthly basis.
  • Running regular management reports and taking minutes of monthly team meetings.
  • Answering the telephone, dealing with queries, redirecting calls as necessary and taking messages.
  • Diary management.
  • Greeting visitors.
  • Opening and distribution of incoming post; delivering outgoing post to local post offices/ franked mail postbox.
  • Organisation of internal and external events.
  • Invoicing using Sage Coretime.
  • Undertaking monthly office fire safety checks, petty cash reconciliation and ordering office supplies.
  • Photocopying and printing.
  • Any other duties, as required, to ensure the smooth running of the office.

The skills we are looking for in you:

  • Fast, accurate typist
  • audio typing skills preferred.
  • Good general knowledge of Microsoft office, specifically Word and Excel
  • Excellent standard of written English language.
  • Good telephone manner; well spoken.
  • Good level of numeracy.
  • Ability to prioritise busy workload and manage time.
  • Ability to act on own initiative whilst also working with Company processes and procedures.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Good organisation skills.
  • Ability to deal with customers at all levels and maintain client confidentiality at all times
  • Experience within a professional services organisation preferred, but not essential.
  • Proactive approach to work.
  • Full UK driving licence, vehicle owner and insured for business purposes.
  • Front facing with a positive cando attitude.

Key information you need to know:

  • Monday to Friday 9:00am
  • 5:30pm.
