Senior Specialist Contact Worker

Salary Grade 3 27,667


Senior Specialist Contact Worker's support, co-ordinate and guide the provision of important opportunities for children of all ages not living with their families to spend time together.


This role presents a rewarding opportunity to support and lead a team working with a wide range of children from birth to 16 years, therefore good knowledge and understanding of child development and well-being is essential.

You will be required to lead and direct workers to support and encourage children and young people to spend positive time with their parents and significant others in a safe environment or out in the community depending on the family's needs.

Your role will be support and supervise workers to develop, observe, offer support and guidance, using evidence
- based parenting strategies, modelling and encouraging play opportunities. Your recorded observations and those of the team will inform the assessments and decision making of the social worker and can be used in the court arena. You will work with a multi -disciplinary approach with the common goal of ensuring "Get together" time is in the best interest of the child/ren. You will work as part of a team of Contact Workers and as part of the wider children and family service.


This role will require you to be flexible with your hours, responsive to the needs of child/ren and their families, and to be able to drive to various locations and to transport some children to and from their get togethers.

The vacancy is based in the Mid area of the county.
