6 month Fixed term contract

We are looking for an individual who is a fast learner with excellent attention to detail to join our Finance & Payroll team. In this key role, you will be supporting the payroll data entry for the full organisation in an accurate and timely manner.
Your role will include (but is not limited to) the following:

  • Payroll full administration for starters and leavers
  • Querying benefits, deductions and tax implications where necessary with Payroll Specialist
  • Ensure any offpayroll payments made to staff are duly accounted for within payroll system, i.e. staff advances
  • Preparation of 3rd party payments with associated backup, i.e. PAYE/Pensions/etc.
  • Supporting the wider finance team by posting payroll journals to the ledgers
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, and maintaining full backup schedules for key control accounts: net pay and associated standard deductions, salary sacrifice, staff advances/loans and attachments
  • Populating P11D information for the organisation


This role is based out of our office in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, however we have adopted agile working so it would be possible to work remotely at times.


About you
We would love to hear from you if you possess the following:

  • GCSE Maths & English (A*-C/4-9) or equivalent
  • Fast & eager learner, with an adaptable "can do" attitude
  • Excellent attention to detail (accuracy KPI target of 100%)
  • Able to remain calm under the pressure of strict deadlines
  • Ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of information is maintained at all times
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office
  • CIPP Level 3 (or equivalent) is desirable
