Marketing Research Executive - Up to £40k - Financial Services (in-house) - Manchester


The overall purpose of the role is to support the marketing team and wider organisation's ability to be market orientated through the collection, analysis and distribution of market and consumer insight.


The Market Research Executive's role ensures that market insight is collected through quantitative and qualitative research, and delivered back to the wider team, so that the consumer/member can be put at the heart of everything they do.


This will be through a mixture of first party research, and the collection of secondary research such as industry research reports and publicly available data.


The key areas where research that are required include but are not limited to brand tracking, consumer insight, market insight, product, competition and their own membership base.


Responsibilities:


  • To develop in conjunction with the Head of Marketing, a market research strategy that enables the marketing team and wider organisation to make effective decisions with regards marketing targeting, messaging, media planning, product development and more
  • Design quantitative and qualitative surveys
  • Design and mediate on focus groups
  • Collect and distribute secondary research that is relevant to the organisation
  • Deliver insightful recommendations to the Marketing and Communications teams
  • Carry out research into the member, with the key role of reporting insight into consumer behaviour and attitudes
  • Carry out competitor and market research to ensure that the marketing team has the available data with regards to the competitive landscape that they operate in
  • To work closely with other stakeholders in the business to ensure market insight is effectively distributed
  • To identify any material risks that occur in the marketing insight function. These should be entered onto the Risk Database and appropriately monitored and reviewed
  • To assist with the implementation of corporate culture initiatives
  • To be aware of and comply with office health and safety procedures

About you:


  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent
  • Experience working alongside marketing teams, providing insight from market research
  • Experience using market research survey software
  • Experience delivering and mediating focus groups
  • Ability to deliver insight through data
  • Advanced Excel user
  • Confident and outgoing personality with the ability to self start business initiatives
  • In depth working knowledge of Financial Services products
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
