    Job summary

    We are looking for a 5-8 session salaried GP to join our forward thinking, friendly training practice. We have a large, extremely supportive team with established mentoring in place. Our own daily visiting team consisting of ANPs, Paramedic and GP and daily lunchtime clinical meetings to facilitate MDT discussion and peer support, make us a fantastic team to work with

    Competitive salary, 6 weeks annual leave, up to 1 week study leave and protected CPD study time.

    Start date from the beginning of July but we will wait for the right person.

    Main duties of the job

    15 minute appointments for all GPs. On-call rota with 2 GPs on call each morning and afternoon. Visit GP rota so no visits unless it is your turn on the rota, working alongside our visit team of ANPs and Paramedic. Role development and training encouraged and supported.

    Large, friendly, multi-disciplinary team includes 7 GP partners, 8 salaried GPs, 7 ANPs, 1 Paramedic, 1 First Contact Practitioner, 4 Clinical Pharmacists, 1 Pharmacy Technician, 3 Phlebotomists, 2 HCAs, 1 Nurse Associate, 3 TR nurses, 3 CDM nurses and an extensive management, reception, admin, secretarial team of 40 staff. Dispensing practice with 20,500 patients and own on site hybrid dispensary/pharmacy. High level of patient access provided by our experienced skill mix of GPs, ANPs and Clinical Pharmacists. Pro-active in ICB and PCN.Purpose built modern premises which incorporate our community PHCT with whom we enjoy a close working relationship. Thriving rural market town close to the Fylde Coast, an hour's drive to the Lake District and Manchester with outstanding local schools.

    Job responsibilities

  • Surgery start times can be flexible, but the post holder shouldnormally be available between 8am and 6pm on each working day. Each surgery consistsof 11 or 12 x 15 minute appointments.
  • You will take part in the duty doctor rota betweenthe hours of am and pm. The duty doctor role is shared as a morningand afternoon role ie, you will not be on call all day and there are always two doctors on call.
  • The post-holderwill make him/herself available to undertake a variety of duties includingsurgery consultations, telephone consultations, queries, home visits, checkingand signing repeat prescriptions, processing of patient results andcorrespondence in accordance with practice protocols.
  • To be responsible for assessing, diagnosing,treating and/or referring patients. Toopportunistically complete the necessary checks and record appropriate data tosupport the practice in meeting the QOF, attaining nGMS contract qualitypoints, attaining targets and any future targets etc.
  • To identify, assess and discuss patients problemsor needs with the patients, relative/carers and other PHCT members and devise amanagement plan and monitor the outcome.
  • Prescribing in accordance with the Practiceprescribing formulary whenever this is clinically appropriate.
  • In general the post-holder will be expected toundertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GPworking within primary care.
