We at Trade Team Recruitment are working with a leading transportation company specialising in maintaining and servicing a diverse fleet of vehicles. With a commitment to excellence and safety, we are seeking a skilled and motivated HGV Technician to join our team.

Job Title: HGV/PSV Mechanic
Hours: Hours per week
Salary:
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent

Requirements:

• Level 3 NVQ in vehicle maintenance, repair and diagnostics or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years industry experience of both mechanical and electrical systems
• Welding experience would also be desirable, but not essential
• Have proven knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act
• Ability to work effectively unsupervised, use own initiative and remain focussed and consistent and a 'can do' attitude

Responsibilities:

• Carrying out vehicle servicing in accordance with company policy
• Carrying out Maintenance Inspections and repair to both company and DVSA standards
• Preparing and presenting for MOTs
• Diagnosing vehicle faults and specifying the correct method of repair and warranty claims are in line with terms
• Ensuring correct paperwork is completed and accurate records maintained in a timely manner
• Ordering parts in line with company policy
• Adhering to good housekeeping practices including general tidiness in the workshop and return of all tools and
• equipment to their designated place
• Attending on-road vehicle breakdowns
• Carrying out vehicle road testing where necessary to determine specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair
• Ensuring work load is prioritised and deadlines met
• Complying with Health and Safety policy and guidance documents
• Adopting methods of safe working
