    Description

    The Department of Mathematics at King's College London has a distinguished scientific tradition in pure and applied mathematics dating back to is its foundation in 1830, with a reputation today as a world-leading centre for research and study at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

    Mathematics covers a vast spectrum of fascinating topics and addresses fundamental questions, and as such the Department is well positioned to contribute to wider King's ambitions, not least our ambition to make the world a better place.

    As a result, the Department has seen significant growth over the last four years, growing by 32% to 77 academic staff, and student numbers growing by 11%.

    Working with the Executive Dean and Faculty Leadership Team the postholder will be expected to build wide and meaningful interdisciplinary research collaborations across King's, ensure excellence and innovation in education, provide supportive leadership for academic and professional services staff in the Department, and contribute to the strategic direction of the Faculty.

    The successful candidate will have a substantial track record in research, teaching and professional achievement within a mathematics discipline, and evidence an aptitude and ambition towards inclusive leadership.
