    Job summary

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Children's Staff Nurse working in our Children's Assessment Unit at Staffordshire Children's Hospital at Royal Stoke on a fixed term basis for 12 months.Staffordshire Children's Hospital at Royal Stoke University Hospital sits within the University Hospital of the North Midlands NHS Acute Trust, which serves the population of Stoke-on Trent, Staffordshire and beyond, with both local and specialist tertiary services.

    Main duties of the job

    To assess develop, implement and evaluate nursing care needs of children and families/carers within the ward or department in order to provide and maintain a high standard of informed and effective holistic care following a formal period of preceptorship. To participate and contribute to the teaching requirements of the ward and department. To contribute to the management of the nursing services by taking charge the clinical area when required on an occasional basis if applicable to that clinical area. To rotate to other clinical areas as requested, to meet the demands of the service and fulfil professional educational needs. To participate in the development of clinical audit, ensuring that a prominent nursing contribution is made.
