    Description


    North Air provide manpower to operate and maintain Manchester Airport Storage and Hydrant Company (MASHCo) which is a joint venture company, Operated by Air bp to Air bp Regulations.

    MASHCo is an Upper Tier COMAH facility which supplies all the Aviation Fuel requirements to Manchester Airport.

    MASHCO's maintenance team is a key aspect of the day-to-day operation of the site; ensuring KPI's are delivered, with routine maintenance and fault rectifications carried out to the highest standards.

    They promote compliance to Operator standards and actively participate in continuous site improvement.
    The starting salary on the role will be £44, rising to £52,496.19 once training has been completed.

    The Electrical Maintenance Technician is a key role in the effective delivery of the maintenance strategy, with significant emphasis on safety, competence and workmanship in order to carry out PPM's and repairs of operational plant effectively.

    The Multi Skilled Technician will also have a mechanical maintenance background and will be competent to assist the mechanical technicians were needed and also complete low risk mechanical maintenance on their own.

    A key part of this is to develop and maintain good relationships with management, staff, airport stakeholders and contractors so that the operational plant and hydrant system is maintained effectively, safely and efficiently.

    Skills and ExperienceMust have been a registered apprentice or undergone some equivalent method of training and have had at least 5 years of practical experience in electrical maintenance work.

    Knowledge and experience of health & safety procedures/requirementsCity and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2 or 2351 or 2330 levels 2 and 3 or approved equivalentNVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation Work (or approved equivalent).

    This position requires an airside pass, so will be required to complete a basic criminal records disclosure and have a 5-year employment record, which meets with the British Airport Authority RegulationsFull driving licence (ideally clean)


    DesirableWorking knowledge of working with aviation fuel or similar petrochemical backgroundWorking Knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems preferredExperience in carrying out electrical work on electrical/instrumentation equipment in hazardous areas ie ATEX certified equipmentFamiliarisation with DSEAR Regulations, Hazardous Area Classification/Zoning would be very advantageous.

    Experience of managing Permit to Work systems, and performing electrical isolations of plant for maintenance and planned works.
    Suitable qualification (e.g.

    the City and Guilds 2382) in the current edition of BS:
    7671 Requirements for Electrical Installation.
    Compex Units 1-4Suitable qualification (e.g. the City and Guilds 2391) in the inspection, testing and commissioning of installations.
