Description

A leading UK Intellectual Property firm is looking for an experienced Business Development and Marketing professional to join their growing business services function.

Whilst leading a team of two, you will be the primary contact point for the firm's BD.You will work closely with the Managing Committee and dedicated BD Partner, to deliver both strategic and hands-on support.

Key role requirements include:


  • Implementing and delivering BD and marketing strategy across the firm
  • Developing the firm's annual business development plan setting quarterly objectives and communicating internally
  • Working with Practice Group Heads to develop annual departmental, and individual business plans ensuring these are aligned to the firm's strategic business plan
  • Driving cross selling opportunities and coach best practice BD for fee earners
  • Regular market research and insight identifying target clients and growing client base
  • Maintaining and growing referral networks and relationships
  • Manage and coordinate tender opportunities
  • Supporting strategic lateral hire programme
  • Supporting cross border growth
  • Developing and monitoring budgets and reviews

Working with the Marketing Manager you will:

  • Formulate and deliver external marketing strategies
  • ensuring an integrated strategic approach to marketing communications
  • Grow the firm's profile through varied marketing streams, including analysing sponsorship and speaking opportunities with strong ROI
  • Manage social media channels
  • Drive thought leadership opportunities
  • Maintain excellent media relationships and secure regular highquality editorial and comment opportunities in media
  • Manage the delivery of the Directories and Awards processes
  • Overall responsibility for maintaining the firm's CRM system
  • Responsibility for delivery of strategic client events, evidencing ROI
  • Overall responsibility for reviewing and maintaining the firm's website and content


Team supervision and management is a key part of this role, and you will have responsibility for managing and nurturing a team of two.


Key person requirements

  • Business Development and Marketing experience at senior level in a professional services environment
  • Intellectual Property would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written with exceptional attention to detail
  • Demonstrated leadership, resourcefulness and ability to take the initiative and drive things forward
  • Proven experience and ability to work well in a fastpaced environment
