Description

As a Senior Construction Manager, you will oversee the timely execution and completion of both the pre-construction and construction phases of projects.

You will have full ownership, responsibility, and accountability for the project, highlighting projectrisks, identifying potential opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiencies.

The Senior Construction Manager will take responsibility for leading all aspects of the Construction function. This does not include day-to-day storemaintenance but does include capital projects in existing Properties.

You will:

Be responsible to ensure delivery of safe, compliant, sustainable and innovative property solutions that meet the needs of Uniserve through robust project management.
Lead the internal and external teams proactively, providing clear engaging communication, working collaboratively with senior colleagues, and delivering a customer centric property service that supports the Uniserve Property strategy for growth.
Build relationships with existing and potential external clients.
Identify and win projects through those effective relationships.
Liaise with colleagues to determine and identify project opportunities.

- and On-site Construction Project Management Activities

Add value to the design development process by challenging solutions and methods.
Provide regular proactive reports on the projects relating to cost, programme and progress, contracts risks and quality/design.
Ensure all projects are administered in line with contractual obligations and negotiate and manage commercial terms and issues.
Responsible for overall compliance through proper controls and systems to ensure that project risks are identified and mitigated within commercially acceptable levels.
Ensure timely project completion and closedown ensuring remedial action is taken within agreed timelines.
Ensure that projects are delivered with classleading H&S and drive forward H&S within the Property function.
Contribute to and provide leadership at all Property business unit project reviews.
Recruit and retain talent for the present delivery and future growth of the Uniserve property business.
Contribute to the development and growth of other team members through effective coaching.
Develop clear, detailed and practical measures of performance to develop team members
Build and maintain external relationships (e.g., clients, contractors/subcontracts) to increase networks.
Support supply chain growth and management.

We're looking for:

Extensive knowledge/experience of the successful delivery of projects upto £150m plus.
Demonstrable building sector experience as a Senior Project Manager or major build projects.
You have a degree in civil or construction engineering; an economic background is a strong plus
You have a minimum of 6 years of experience in a similar position
You must have a good understanding of the property development and construction industry with indepth knowledge including design, contractual procurement options and optimising price, quality, and speed of delivery.
Ability to use commercial judgment and experience to balance risk, resolve conflicts of interest and find resolutions to support longterm business benefit.
An enthusiastic and confident negotiator, with a passion for delivering value for money.

You are analytical, and you have the ability to prioritise and communicate to stakeholders in business key objectives and tactics necessary to achieve goals.
You have a strong track record of successful implementation of projects
