    Description

    Ashton Recruitment require a HSEQ Officer for our client based in Toomebridge.

    Position: HSEQ Officer

    Location: Toomebridge

    Duration: Permanent

    Rate of Pay: £30000-£35000

    Hours of Work: Monday-Friday, 08:00-17:00

    Duties include (but not limited to):

    • Foster a culture of safety that is proactive and positive by actively engaging employees, demonstrating leadership, empowering individuals, and holding everyone accountable to ensure the safety of all staff, customers, and contractors.
    • Oversee and enhance the client's integrated HSEQ Management system through continuous development, auditing, and maintenance, while fostering strong relationships with internal and external regulators and stakeholders.
    • Use internal audits to ensure company compliance with regulatory standards, HSEQ best practices, environmental permits/consents, and relevant International and British Standards, taking charge of external audits when necessary.
    • Cultivate a work environment that prioritizes the physical and mental well-being of employees, delivering appropriate HSEQ training, information, and support, while monitoring and enforcing compliance across sites to prevent injuries, illnesses, customer complaints, and environmental damage.
    • Assist in the formulation and ongoing review of HSEQ policies, procedures, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with legislation and guidelines, providing guidance on necessary improvements and corrective actions.
    • Aid site management in investigating accidents, incidents, non-conformances, and near misses, offering advice on how to enhance safety measures and implement corrective actions.
    • Support the implementation and enhancement of Engage HSEQ technology across sites, promoting a culture of positive reporting and shared ownership.
    • Take a lifecycle approach to assess environmental impacts, supporting the client's goals to reduce CO2 emissions, waste, energy consumption, and water usage.
    • Assist in managing the client's contractor approval system and ensure strict adherence to contractor control procedures.
    • Undertake any additional responsibilities appropriate to the role and within the individual's skills and capabilities.

    Essential Criteria:

    • Relevant third level degree or equivalent
    • Relevant experience in successful companywide improvements
    • Computer literate
    • Professional with proven ability to influence at all levels.
    • A problem solver
    • Highly articulate both orally and in written work
    • Excellent interpersonal skills Strong customer orientation Attention to detail
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written
    • Good ambassador for company in front of customers
    • Ability to work across organisation boundaries inside and outside company and have strong influencing skills on HSE related matters.

    Desirable Criteria:

    • Previous experience in concrete
    • Products manufacturing environment
    • NEBOSH Diploma
    • Accredited Internal Auditor for HSEQ Management Systems
    • Professional attitude
