    About the role

The IoO AOSLO Facility provides state-of-the-art, high-resolution imaging of the retinal structure in research participants with a variety of ophthalmic conditions with the aim to better understand eye disease on a cellular level. The successful candidate will be a key member of the AOSLO Facility team and have a role in all aspects of what we do; AOSLO maintenance, leading image acquisition sessions, analysis of AOSLO image sequences and academic discussion. We are also always looking for team members with new skills that could help us improve how we run. The post holder's role involves two main aspects: Interacting with visually impaired and normally sighted research participants and administering both common clinical vision tests and cutting-edge research-grade retinal imaging modalities and assessments, such as Adaptive Optics Scanning Light Ophthalmoscopy (AOSLO).

    1. Hand-Held Optical Coherence Tomography (HH-OCT) and Vision-Guided Mobility Assessments. 2. Providing technical support for the AOSLO Facility (hardware and software). Full, in-house training will be provided. Whilst performing imaging, there will be some tasks that demand hand-eye coordination and fine motor control skills. For example, while acquiring Adaptive Optics SLO image sequences there is a need to control software on a PC, adjust electronic devices and maintain the patient's pupil aligned, simultaneously, alternating between sitting and standing positions. Details of the IoO AOSLO Facility can be found online:

    About you
