    Engineer – Connections Business Development

    As a Engineer – Connection Business Development reporting into the Commercial Manager – Transmission Network Access, you will be part of the Distribution System Operation (DSO) team involved in delivering an increasingly smart and flexible energy system for our customers that delivers a greener grid, with maximum resilience at minimal overall cost.

    Review connection offers from National Grid to determine technical compliance with Northern Powergird's requirements/network.


    • Engage internally with Design and Commercial colleagues to assess National Grid proposals to ensure solutions are technically and commercially acceptable for us and our customers.
    • Develop processes, rules and criteria to review customer major connection projects and understand the readiness of the project to proceed in order to manage the queue priorities (eject and advance).
    • Recommend actions to actively manage the connections pipeline with promotion of customers on flexible access arrangements and recycling of capacity not used by stalled projects.
    • Strong analytical skills to interpret information regarding customer projects and apply judgement to decision making.
    • Strong data and reporting skills to produce accurate and timely reports relating to large and dynamic datasets.
    HNC, HND, degree, or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
