**Summary and purpose of position: As a Contract Training Manager at Wincanton, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our operations are compliant with all relevant regulations, maintaining the highest safety standards, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development among our workforce. This role requires a dynamic individual who can deliver Class 1 and Class 2 driving assessments, conduct new starter inductions, and work towards obtaining qualifications to train warehouse colleagues on mechanical handling equipment.


This role will be based from our southern distribution center in Hemel Hempstead which encompasses 6 out bases in addition to the main DC.

The role is predominantly Monday to Friday, with a salary of £34,125

**Duties and responsibilities: - Conduct Class 1 and Class 2 driving assessments for employees as required.

  • Assess and evaluate driver competency, adherence to safety protocols, and compliance with transportation regulations.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive inductions for new employees, ensuring they are wellinformed about company policies, safety procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Create engaging training materials and presentations to facilitate effective onboarding.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with industryspecific regulations, standards, and company policies.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and inspections at various sites, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Travel to outbound sites, as required, to provide onsite support and training.
  • Collaborate with site managers and employees to address compliance issues and training needs.
  • Training Qualifications:
  • Pursue necessary qualifications and certifications to become an accredited trainer for warehouse colleagues on mechanical handling equipment. Experience desirable.
  • Maintain accurate records of all training sessions, assessments, and compliance activities. Generate reports and analysis to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
**Experience, Skills, and Attributes: - Proven experience in compliance management, ideally within the logistics or transportation industry.

  • Valid Class 1 and Class 2 driving licenses.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel to various sites as needed.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and training qualifications.
  • Be proactive, inquisitive with a passion for challenging teams to drive performance.
  • Be able to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards.
  • Should be flexible and respond positively and accurately to internal and external customer requests.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills with the ability to develop good working relationships at all levels.
  • Be able to demonstrate previous relevant experience. Able to travel across sites as required.
