    Brown & Brown is seeking a Property Underwriter for its Underwriting team in London. This position is responsible to assist in the in the production of quotations, new business, renewals and mid-term adjustments of property investors risks, which will be submitted to Lexicon Property by either appointed in house brokers, Third Party brokers or direct clients. Where relevant, the current in-house quote and bind facility will be used to assist with these tasks.

    You will work with the management team in the development of both in house and third party brokers to ensure profitable growth and attainment of Lexicon Property budgeted targets.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO:

    • Have read, understood and work within the guidelines as set out within the Lexicon Property Underwriting Manuals.
    • Have read and understood the Lexicon Property Investors Policy Wordings.
    • Use your experience and initiative to actively underwrite and advise upon new and existing property investors risks.
    • Liaise with our claims team to identify properties where adverse risk factors arise because of a claim.
    • Form working relationships with broker partners using the telephone, emails, and personal visits. Visits to broker partners may be with the management team.
    • To work with the management team to develop relationships with in-house and broker partners to contribute to Lexicon Property targets and contribute towards business growth.
    • Become fully acquainted with the Lexicon IT systems.
    • Have read, understood and work within the requirements of the company's various Governance policy statements, including.
    • Financial Crime
    • Treating Customers Fairly
    • Breaches register.
    • Complaint procedures
    • Any other policies that are produced from time to time.
    • Agree Key Performance Indicators with the MD
    • Work in a compliant, professional and organised manner, observing office hours and being ready to start work at the allotted time.
    • Any other duties as the Company may require.

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

    • Have obtained or be working towards Cert CII to be completed within 12 months of appointment.
    • Be prepared to continue studying to the ACII qualification.
    • Good working knowledge / experience of:
    • 3-5 Years' experience in commercial insurance

    ü Experience of property owners underwriting is preferable.

    • Good technical product knowledge
    • Experience of working in teams and delivering results
    • Reasoned decision making with good analytical and numerical reasoning skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
