We are currently hiring an intern to join our Growth Markets team in London. This is a fixed term internship for 12 months with a regional focus on LATAM and will cover both institutional and wealth/retail markets.
The Growth Markets team is responsible for Allianz Global Investors' client relationships and business development activities in Africa, Latin America plus the Caribbean and the Middle East including Israel, but also in Turkey and the CIS region.
Client coverage includes among others Central Banks, Sovereign Wealth Funds, and other government entities, but also pension funds, corporates, and family offices. However, the team members also service regional and multinational distribution partners, catering to our retail activities in the various regions.
What you will do
• Assisting the team in developing and implementing business and sales strategies covering Institutional Investors from Growth Market Areas Africa, Latin America, Middle East, and Taiwan)
• Compiling information and preparing strategic analyses of markets or prepare media offers
• Provide valuable assistance to the team in Client Relationship Management
• Support the team in organising conferences and meetings for potential clients
• Prepare supporting documentation for meetings spreadsheets, presentations or research as requested
What you bring
Given the exposure provided in this role, you need to enjoy working and learning in a diverse and highly energetic environment. In particular, we are looking for the following capabilities/ experiences:
• You are enrolled in an accredited college or university studying towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree
• Have a basic understanding and genuine interest in working within the Financial Services sector, and Asset Management in particular
• An outstanding command of English and Spanish (written and spoken), Portuguese is a plus
• You have sophisticated computer literacy in MS-Office (esp. PowerPoint and Excel) and also strong analytical skills
• Experience of PowerBI and production of datasets is highly desirable
• A reliable, detailed and service-oriented working attitude as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Additionally, you should embrace strategic thinking and a structured approach to problem solving
• You enjoy thinking "outside-of-the-box" and are willing to suggest solutions to improve our current processes
• Good organisational skills, able to multi-task
• Positive attitude and willingness to keep an open mind to learn new things
