    Job summary

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Quality Control Assistant to join our Pharmacy team.

    You will be part of a team with responsibility for the management of Quality Control services at Sherwood Forest Hospitals. The Quality Control department supports the Aseptic Dispensing and Pre-Packing Medicines activities carried out at Sherwood Forest Hospitals, aswell as carrying out inspections of Unlicensed Medicines received by the Trust. You will be required to undertake operational activities within the Quality Control Section, inclusive of environmental monitoring, document control and validation of equipment to ensure medicines are manufactured safely and efficiently.

    Knowledge Requirements

    Essential

  • Experience of quality control and quality assurance (equivalent to NVQ level 3)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Desirable

  • Knowledge within a specialism of QC
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical/production
  • Basic understanding of GMP principles
  • Qualifications

    Essential

  • GCSE Science, Maths and English Grade C or equivalent.
  • Qualification NVQ Level 2 in Pharmaceutical Science or Quality Assurance
  • Further Training

    Essential

  • Able to complete documentation accurately with attention to detail
  • Able to follow written procedures
  • Able to work alone and in a team
  • Able to work to deadlines
  • Desirable

  • Interest in technical aspects of Quality Control
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of COSHH and Health and Safety at work
  • Desirable

  • Experience of product checking or associated quality control/assurance practices
  • Experience of working in a GMP environment
