Simon Acres Recruitment are delighted to be working with a well established Builders Merchant, who are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join their team.

Your main duties will include:


  • Creating a three year strategic Health and Safety plan
  • Monitoring and driving the process against this Health and Safety plan
  • Ensuring the plan is updated in accordance with any new legislation, best industry practice, recommendations from H.S.E. and insurers, plus any other health, safety or environmental initiatives that are derived through a continual personal development plan
  • Annually appraising all emergency procedures
  • Monitoring and improving the Citation Safety Cloud system
  • Appraising the Management team on a monthly basis on the progress against plan, plus any updates on legislation change, or any other changes that could impact the business
  • Establishing KPI's, at all levels, to form the backbone of a monthly Departmental review. Ensuring compliance and assisting Managers where required
  • Establishing TNA for all levels of the Business and to ensure the criteria is met, whether through inhouse or external training
  • Ensuring that the Business Continuity plan is appraised biannually and is kept up to date

This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced H&S professional, who has a particular passion for sustainability.

  • NEBOSH Diploma in Health & Safety (or similar)
  • Experience of the development and implementation of safety management systems
  • Up to date knowledge of H&S legislation and ability to interpret
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to promote the organisation with a wide range internal and external contacts
  • A full UK driving license
