SRUC is looking to appoint a Governance Support Officer (Secondment Cover) for a period of 18 months.

The main purpose of this post is to support and assist the Company Secretary in the efficient delivery of governance and secretariate services across SRUC,including for the Board, sub-committees and Executive Leadership Team.


Duties/Responsibilities will include to:

  • Assisting the Company Secretary in the efficient execution of professional secretariate services across SRUC.
  • Preparing agendas for meetings, writing minutes, and operating an efficient "bring forward" / action tracking system.
  • Collating and distributing papers for Board and committee meetings (currently 2 Boards, 3 subcommittees, ELT meetings, adhoc short life working groups). Drafting cover notes as required.
  • Records maintenance and keeping key company governance files and information up to date, including internet and intranet information/documents.
  • Arranging meetings, including location and catering. Travel and accommodation booking for nonexecutives.
  • Answering general queries from Nonexecutives and Executives.
  • Prioritise workload to ensure that deadlines are met and ensure that correspondence and matters arising are dealt with expeditiously.
  • General office duties as required, such as invoicing and expense claims.
  • Maintaining confidentiality, at all times.


Applicants should have a solid secretarial/administrative background at director level, experience in supporting board level committees and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.

You will be required to work to strict deadlines and possess theability to prioritise your workload in an effective manner.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Experience with minute taking and writing is essential.

This is a Fixed term position, of 18 months with the possibility of extension or permanent position being offered.
