    An opportunity has arisen for a Quality Technician to join the Quality department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment. To support the weekday late shift with inspection of components, sub-assemblies and completed battery systems. Initial documentation, investigation, and containment of non-conforming material.

    Job role:

    · Act as the Quality Point of Contact for the weekend shift within battery build

    · Undertake and act as Authorised Signatory for in-process inspection and sign-off of sub-assemblies and assemblies

    · Perform visual inspections of materials and components, liaising with the quality team, warehouse and manufacturing as required

    · Transact appropriate Works Orders through the company designate Production Management System (Visual Factory) and through inspection within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 MRP system

    · Perform dimensional inspections of supplied components, in-process and finished manufactured components using CMM, shadowgraph and manual equipment in a timely manner

    · Responsible for acceptance or rejection of materials, in-process and finished items

    · Utilise product Inspection Plans and Control Plans; provide feedback to update required inspection needs and methods

    · Manage reject documentation in accordance with company procedures

    · Implement initial investigation and containment actions, utilising structured problem-solving

    · Ensure robust and rigorous problem resolution utilising such techniques as 8D utilising Lean and Six Sigma techniques and methodologies such as PDCA and DMAIC as the basis for driving on-going process improvements.

    · Develop and support project-specific Quality requirements as and when required;

    · Support the implementation of specific, focused 'Quality Improvement Programmes' to deliver year-on- year improvements, utilising KPI analysis, Pareto, FMEA and other relevant tools and techniques.

    You'll have:

    · Experience in the use of problem resolution tools (8D, 5 Why, 6 Sigma etc.) and techniques is a must

    along with proven application and knowledge of ISO9001, TS16949 (IATF16949);

    · Read and understand technical documents, drawings and specifications

    · Understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing

    · Proven, relevant metrology experience gained in a manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive volume production or a similar sector.

    · Experience working with hand tools, CMM and associated measurement systems. PC-DMIS is currently used on CMM, so familiarity with this software would be beneficial.

    · You will have good attention to detail and a logical, methodical approach to ensure accuracy of measurements and records
