Description
Support a robust and sustainable health and safety culture across multiple sites, whilst overcoming cultural and behavioural challenges.To build rapport and strengthen relationships across the Halfords Group to both empower & promote colleagues to take ownership of health & safety.
Continually challenge management and associated colleagues to stay focused on business-critical risksTo proactively assist with the development, implementation, monitoring, and review of all health & safety strategies, policies, standards, and procedures throughout the Halfords Group.
# To support and play an active role in delivering the Halfords Group Health & Safety Roadmap# To undertake audits and workplace/area inspections to proactively identify where health & safety management practices and overall standards can be improved.
# Provide written reports by the way of inspection, visible safety leadership (VSL), and monthly summaries where necessary to assist Halfords in implementing solutions to improve its overall health & safety performance.
# Provide both competent and expert advice on all health & safety matters that arise when called upon.
# Prioritise and respond to safety concerns identified from colleagues, contractors, and visitors who enter any Halfords Group operation.
# Liaise with enforcement agencies in conjunction with both the Senior Health & Safety Business Partner and Group Head of Health & Safety.
# To contribute to the design, development, production, and delivery of training materials including (but not limited to) risk assessments, safe working procedures, manual handling, traffic management, wellbeing & welfare, vehicle operations, housekeeping standards, PUWER, LOLER etc... ensuring that appropriate records are kept, and quality of content meets the specific requirements of the Group.
# Assist the Group Head of Health & Safety and Senior Health & Safety Business Partner in maintaining effective working relationships with Halfords Directors, Managers, Colleagues, Trade Unions, Partners, Contractors, and all other relevant stakeholders.
# Assist management and departmental heads with site improvement plans to aid continuous improvement in all matters related to health & safety.
# Support and participate in department, corporate, individual, and sponsored projects.
# Ensure you maintain a healthy and safe working life balance whilst working for the Halfords Group.
Minimum of 5 years' experience within a health & safety advisor or business partner position.
Experience within a multi-site and business function role.
NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification (NVQ 5).
Proven record of promoting a positive health & safety performance culture.
Flexible and able to work independently.
Strong organisational & planning skills.
NEBOSH Diploma or Safety Diploma / NVQ 6.
NEBOSH Fire Certificate.
NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
Automotive sector experience.
Claims defensibility trained /or considerable experience.
Experience in fire risk assessments First Aid trained.
Maintains CPD (Continued Professional Development) IOSH Membership (Associate / Member).
Excellent working knowledge of health & safety legislation.
