    Description

    Job Purpose:

  • To be responsible for the on-time specification and delivery of the contactors, fuses and other devices required to electrically isolate the HV Battery systems, across the different electrified platforms for AML.
  • You will be leading the definition of parameters required to source the current-breaking devices within the HV Battery systems, both for the in-house developments and evaluating the solutions provided by engineering partners.
  • Alongside the design and requirements cascade, you will be responsible for the electrothermal performance of the given components, as well as the management of any other component in the HV Battery, coming from the same supplier.
  • Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the delivery of Contactors, relays, pyro fuses and current sensing devices for all the in-house battery developments as well as reviewing and assessing the developments provided by our engineering partners.
  • Responsible for the release process of the given components, as well as similar components that could be provided by the same supplier.
  • Responsible for the Electrothermal modelling and behaviour of the specified components, and the integration in the HV Battery System.
  • Sizing and troubleshooting of the parts both at supplier's DV and vehicle prototype level.
  • Cascading the thermal behaviour vs mission profile to programme.
  • Functional safety assessment and impact on the components sourced.
  • Manufacturability and serviceability of the solutions proposed alongside the Principal Engineer
  • Supplier management: Requirement cascade, Quality control, DV, Logistics
  • Simulation data coordination. Working closely with the wider AML Simulation team – Cross - team coordination of information sharing, cascading, and reporting.
  • Task tracking – Weekly program status report as part of the Battery working group.
  • Fault and defect analysis: Lessons learnt and default management, using the quality processes for automotive industry: 8D, Ishikawa, etc.
  • Quality: Delivery within an APQP, six sigma or similar framework (DFMEA, quality planning, PPAP.) Identify & contain potential quality concerns using engineering quality systems.
  • Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience within the automotive industry or similar domain experience
  • Contator/Fuse coordination strategy definition and implementation in a customer-oriented HV Battery pack.
  • Use of PyroFuse as part of safety case.
  • Supplier management experience: Content definition and sequence of DV & PV for A / B / C sample.
  • Familiar with the Automotive release process
  • Leadership of product development projects from early R&D to series production
  • Experience on full vehicle delivery, from concept to mass production.
  • Other battery component design experience, such as busbars, connectors, etc.
  • DFMEA delivery experience.
  • Automotive electrical design and development.
  • Experience with CAD (NX, CATIA), Mentor or similar toolset.
  • Engineering Degree in Electrical, Electronic and/or related field.
  • Behaviours:
