We currently have a full time vacancy for a Team Leader for Property based at Chelmsford Police Station with responsibility for the Property Officers for the North of the County.

This role is temporary with a view to being made permanent.


This role has been designated as a 'Static Worker' role which means that you will work solely from an office within an office-based team.

However travel will be required to other police sites to discharge duty, therefore, it is essential that you hold a full, clean, current driving licence and have access to a vehicle for works purposes.


You will coordinate and prioritise the day to day resources and demand for Property Services, including overseeing the receipt, storage and disposal of property to deliver an efficient and effective service to maintain continuity of evidence.

Supervise geographically based staff across Essex Property Departments and the Force Controlled Drugs Administrator to ensure that workloads, priorities, resources and performance are managed effectively and efficiently in order that operational units, support services and external contacts receive a high level of customer service.

The position involves lifting items with aids where appropriate and handling dangerous items for storage e.g. drugs, firearms.

Essex Police offer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £32,772.00.
