A vacancy has arisen for a B4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner working 3 days a week in our Neurology team.

The team are based across both the Arrowe Park Hospital & Clatterbridge Hospital sites as well as providing intervention to patients within community settings.

The post holder will have the opportunity to gain experience in working with in the Acute, rehab and ESD environments

Post holders will independently manage their own designated caseload under supervision of qualified staff. Carry out assessment and set treatment plans within a specified clinical area/pathway. Contribute to departmental and service needs across 7 days.

Post holders will be required to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be committed to team working and patient care.

You maybe required to work across 2 sites depending on your area of work; Arrowe Park Hospital and Clatterbridge Hospital.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and dynamic. This is a physically demanding role.

You will receive support from experienced senior clinical staff, regular supervision and training.

To manage own workload under supervision of a registered practitioner within the neuro team. To implement treatment programmes based on comprehensive assessment and evaluation of the patients' needs.
Responsible for maintaining associated patient records
Participates as a key member of the therapy team and the MDT within a specified clinical area.
To participate in CPD and other development activities under guidance of a registered practitioner

Key responsibilities are:


To ensure effective management of own workload within the specified clinical group, and for work delegated to other staff by prioritising activities, balancing patients needs with the demands on the team.

To ensure a good standard of assessment and treatment of own patients from a specified clinical group under the supervision of a registered practitioner.

To be responsible for communicating with the MDT in order to ensure effective and appropriate planning and delivery of treatment.

To ensure all documentation regarding their clinical involvement with patients adheres Allied Health Professions (AHP) Service and Trust standards.
To be responsible for maintaining and developing current knowledge of evidence based practice in the specified clinical area
To be responsible for risk assessment and appropriate action taken regarding risk
To be responsible for the safe use of equipment used and the security of departmental equipment.
To provide appropriate training and education to other staff including HCA's or relatives or carers
