    We are looking for some dedicated team members to join our enthusiastic team at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh.

    Some of our spaces have recently gone through a refurbishment and expansion of our services has meant we are looking for some new recruits

    Based in Edinburgh City Centre , the Royal Botanic Gardens is home to some wonderful and endangered species of plants in a beautiful setting.

    Role Responsibility

    1. To ensure that the Company and statutory regulations regarding hygiene, safety, and cleanliness are complied with and all tasks undertaken are according to Safeguard regulations
    2. To ensure that all food labelling is compliant with Food Safety Laws and to follow all allergen protocols and ensure that all goods are correctly stored and comply with Health & Safety legislation
    3. To assist in the preparation of menus, relating to your work environment and the company standard
    4. To maintain records and carry out all necessary temperature checks in accordance with Sodexo company policy Delivery temperature checks, fridge temperature, cooking temperature, hot holding temperature etc, and ensuring all documentation is correctly filed on a weekly basis
    5. To ensure all stock is ordered to par level and that the best practice is followed to ensure COS is not exceeded with monthly price checks reviewed to maintain unit COS
    6. To ensure you are trained to use all kitchen and transportation equipment and that it is in good working order, any faults are reported following the correct company procedure

    The Ideal Candidate

    1. At least 2 years experience within 4/5 star hotel restaurant & banqueting operations.

    2. Previous experience at Chef de Partie/Commis Chef level

    3. Management experience

    4. Excellent culinary skills

    5. Hold valid 'Intermediate Food Hygeine' certificate

    6. Excellent spoken and written English

    7. Strong problem solving and organizational skills

    8. Strong leadership skills

    9. Basic IT skills with knowledge of word and excel

    standards of personal presentation

    Working 30 hours per week over 5 out of 7 days.
