Eden Brown Synergy is working with an NHS Organisation based in North London who are seeking to recruit an Employee Relations Specialist to join their Employee Relations Team for a minimum of 3 months.

The purpose of the role is to deliver highly specialist advice to improve delivery of cases by carrying out expert investigations to aid conclusions on a timely manner, and to make recommendations intended to prevent recurrence.

It is not to apportion blame or liability. This role will also seek to improve investigation practice across the wider Trust.

The key responsibility of the post holder is to deliver (and to support others to deliver) expert investigation, ensuring full potential is harnessed to inform learning and patient safety improvement.


  • As ER Specialist some of your key responsibilities include: _
  • Undertake complete investigation projects as delegated by the Head of ER from initiation of the investigation through to compilation and presentation of reports.

This will include, but is not limited to:

  • Conducting effective and efficient investigations to determine if there is a case to answer
  • Preparing and presenting statements and evidence at internal processes and legal hearings if necessary
  • Sharing knowledge and enhancing standards of investigation across the Trust.
  • Responsible for the daytoday management of investigations, ensuring that investigation best practice is followed consistently and investigations are completed and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Work with highly complex, sensitive and emotive information requiring analysis and interpretation to inform sound decision making.
  • Work with all parties who have been involved and affected on cases where the investigation is deemed necessary and dealing with emotive and sensitive information which may also be contentious.
  • Being available as the main person to lead all investigations, workload permitting
  • Undertake secondary duties as required for the ER Service to achieve its strategic aims.
  • Being uptodate with MAST.

Experience & Skills required:


  • Investigation experience in a complex, multidisciplinary and culturally diverse organization
  • Employee relations experience
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience.
  • CIPD Qualified or near qualified and member of CIPD.
  • Extensive knowledge of specialist area, acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or investigator training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to postgraduate's level equivalent
